It’s May.
The yard decorates itself for a visit from
Royalty, if purple is the color of Royalty.
With some yellow
thrown in.
The rain gauge
recorded .75”. It didn’t capture much of
the ten to sixteen inches of heavy wet snow.
Roads were nearly impassible, not with snow, but with mud. It’s a rare
year. I can remember only one or two springs this wet.
Now of my three score and ten, 68 will not come again, So about the yard I will go, tying to learn to enjoy yellow and purple "flowers." (With apologies to A. E. Housman)
